NOAA Fisheries Research Vessel CRIPPLE CREEK, formerly a Bureau of Mines vessel. This picture was taken January 17, 1972 after 100 mph winds with freezing spray lashed Kodiak, Alaska. Over 2 feet of ice built up on the vessel's port side during this storm. This vessel was excessed in 1973.
