Large brisingid starfish

Four purplish red holothurians in site at once. This many animals of any sort other than the hydrothermal vent sites was a rare site on the Cayman Trench expedition.

Dung trails on the seafloor. Holothurians and other creatures such as acorn worms plow up the surface of the seafloor. Over thousands of years, it is probable that the whole surface of the seafloor is disturbed by such biological activity.
