NOAA Photo Library Image - cgs05087

A sketch of a ship was found on Topographic Survey T-331 of "Galveston Bay". This vessel was probably the Coast Survey Schooner NYMPH, under the command of Sub-Assistant J. Morris Wampler who used this vessel for transportation and living quarters during his survey of Galveston Bay. Wampler is one of the few Coast Surveyors who joined the Confederacy during the Civil War.
