Ring of Fire 2002 Expedition. The crew of the Thompson launching ABE (
Automated Benthic Explorer) over the side of the ship for another night of data
collection. ABE is outfitted with a host of scientific sensors to log magnetics,
temperature, conductivity and multi-beam bathymetry.
