NOAA Photo Library Image - fish9712

Humpback whale flukes. Individual humpback whales can be identified by black and white patterns found on the undersides of their flukes. A great number of whales can be identified, catalogued, and resighted through opportunistic snapshots. A significant non-harassing tagging technique.
