Personnel of the NOAA Fisheries Large Whale Disentanglement Program helping
disentangle an endangered North Atlantic Right Whale. The animal had ghost
fishing gear wrapped around both flippers and encircling its entire body. On
the bow is Dr. Stormy Mayo, Center for Coastal Studies; with the cutting tool,
Jamison Smith of NMFS; and the coxswain is Chris Slay, Coastwise Consulting.
