By coincidence, Juneau Alaska was hit by 200 inches of snow during NOAA's
200th Anniversary Year. Employees of the Juneau National Weather Service
Forecast Office stand in front of Mendenhall Glacier, near Juneau. That winter
they helped save lives and property when forecasting avalanches, 50-foot waves,
and 100 mph winds.
