Participants in a NOAA-funded marine debris removal project off the northern
Oregon coast. Derelict trawl nets had been lost in close proximity to undersea
fiber-optic cables that carry vast amounts of digital data across the Pacific.
Personnel from NOAA, Oregon Sea Grant, Coast Guard, Oregon Dept. of Fish and
Wildlife, Lincoln County, and Oregon Public Broadcasting participated.
