A buoy of the Chesapeake Bay Interpretive Buoy System ready for deployment
from Coast Guard Buoy tender. These are used to mark the Captain John
Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail. They also have sensors for
meteorological, oceanographic, and water-quality data that is telemetered to
processing facilities.
