Figure 47. Scotch messenger mounting invented by Hugh R. Mill who was inspired
by the mounting devised by George Rung. Mill also incorporated design elements
of the Magnaghi mounting. This instrument was first used in a series of
observations from the ARK in 1884 in studies undertaken from the Scottish Marine
Station at Granton.
