Figure 70. Temperature sensor for deep water. This instrument was made by
Crouzet Society of Valence, France and constructed by SAFARE-CROUZET. This was
an early version of a CTD instrument in which temperature information was
transmitted up a cable to a recording device. The pressure vessel protecting
the sensor was rated to about 3,000 meters water depth.
