Chesapeake Bay Diamond Shoal Project. This project was for the purpose of
mapping oyster habitat for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. This
continued a function of the Coast Survey that began in the 1870's with mapping
the oyster beds of Maryland, Virginia and many of the eastern seaboard and Gulf
Coast states.
