Nick Wagner and Bill Dube, scientists from NOAA's Earth System Research
Laboratory, Chemical Sciences Division, and the Cooperative Institute for
Research in the Environmental Sciences are installing equipment to study how
nitryl chloride, a compound usually associated with the atmosphere near the
ocean, forms during the winter nighttime in land-locked regions.
