NOAA Photo Library Image - ship5279

Data set of temperature and conductivity obtained during free vehicle descent to bottom of Puerto Rico Trench, almost 8500 meters. The free vehicle is non- tethered and has the potential to eliminate the need for hours of on-station time while CTD's and other instruments are deployed over the side while attached to a wire.
